Una Weldone o...I still dey.

My people, una welldone o!
I know its been quite a while I was here but I have really been busy with planning my elder brother’s wedding, his wife has had to be in job training all this while and can only get out on Thursday(tomorrow) so yours truly has been doing all the running around(it’s almost as if I am the one who is wedding) not to add my ever demanding job.
Thankfully the wedding is this weekend. I can’t wait for it to be done and over with so I can commence my well-deserved holiday. Am thinking of doing Abidjan instead of Accra, not sure yet though.

My leave starts tomorrow and it’s supposed to last for 3weeks even though my boss has been seriously insisting that I go for only 2 weeks. I have told him that one no fit happen o! This girl needs a break abeg! God forbid, if anything happens to me tomorrow, work continues abi?

Sadly I won’t be able to spend so much time on my vacation cos I have to be back in Naija before the 8th of November. Got two cousins who are wedding on that day and both of them have been threatening thunder and brimstone if I don’t show up at their ceremony. How I want take divide myself into two now? I no know o! They are not even happening in the same town so I can’t even attend the church ceremony of one and the reception party of the other.
God help me,lol!

Sorry I got to cut this post short cos I got lots to attend to. You know today’s my last day at work before my leave and it’s almost as if Mr. Boss wants to take all he can get out of me before I go.

Catch y’all larer!

PS: On a last note, na wa for some peeps o! Sometime ago, I left a comment a blogger’s comment section telling him to e-mail me cos we needed to talk about something only to see a mail in my inbox today( told y’all I haven’t been online in ages) from one strange person asking me what my relationship with the blogger was.

Just blabbing!

I know I promised to do a proper post last time but I wasn’t able to do it until now cos I was a little indisposed, lol, who am I kidding?? I was down! Down with malaria fever for 5 whole days! It wasn’t funny at all. One minute, I was hale and bubbly, the next I was burning up, shivering and in pains. These past days have been hell, I tell you but am glad it’s over now, am stronger and back to work.

Seriously now, I don’t have anything to blog about. My head is like empty right now. This is so unlike me, cos I usually have a lot in my head just begging to be put down but today, when I really need to blog about something, anything…i cant put my thoughts together. Did someone say after effects of the malaria? lol! I didn’t have cerebral malaria so don’t even go there!

Hmmm…what to gist…what to gist…

Okay, have I told you guys that my brother’s traditional wedding is coming up this Saturday? I put up the link to their wedding webbie, some time ago and many of you were sweet enough to visit and sign their guestbook. Well, in a few days, they would be traditionally wedded (is that a phrase?)lol! Anyway, this means that I would be travelling down east cos I have to play a prominent role in the wedding, It’s my brother remember? However I am so not looking forward to the long road trip to my village and its not just because of the “when are you calling us” which I am sure to get from my aunts and uncles, it’s because I HATE long distance trips by road!. Yea I know there are airplanes and flights to the east but hey are you gonna give the money?? I am megally broke, lol! NO! I am not kidding, I am serious! Yes even princesses gets broke at times and no, I haven’t been spending frivolously… okay… I admit I did spend frivolously on something recently, Something I probably never even needed in the first place (I didn’t realize it then). Don’t ask me what it was cos I aint telling. Lol! Maybe if I hadn’t bought it, I would have extra cash to pay for my flight down east this weekend*sighs*

Oh well, I can’t dwell on that now, I just need to get my road travel gear ready for the inevitable road trip. Aha! Did I mention that my brother’s wife, my sister-in-law is a really sweet and lovely person and am sure we’ll get along really well. I never had a sister growing up and am glad am getting one now by marriage, lol! Am sure she’ll enjoy her new family. We are waiting to receive her with open arms.

Ahem! I picked up my clothes from the tailor’s yesterday. It’s the ones am rocking at the traditional wedding and the Church thanksgiving. I daresay they look absolutely fab and I know am going to get a lot of compliments on my outfit on the D-day. Whose eyes is turning green??lol!
Maybe I’ll have some pics for you all when I return. Maybe you guys will have to beg me before I post any, lol!
Anyway, thing is I am looking forward to having a blast this weekend, I hope you all do too!
Am out,
Cheers,
princesa

AGE…BIG DEAL OR NOT??

I attended a wedding two Saturdays ago. Nice, colourful wedding. There were lots to eat and even more to drink. There were the beautifully dressed guests, the obviously rich groom and the very pretty bride. Everything seemed just perfect that is until you notice the glaring age difference between the couple. The groom looked to be in his mid/late forties while the bride looked like she was in her mid twenties (a likely 20 years age difference between both of them). However they looked happy and ready to take on the challenges of matrimony together.

Now, this takes us to the title of this post. Is age between couples a big deal? I mean is age a determining factor to the success of a marriage? Does marrying a younger man/older man guarantee happiness in wedlock?? Peeps, would you prefer your partner to be older/younger/same age as you???

Personally I do not think there is anything wrong with one marrying a man/woman who is a lot older than he/she is. What matters is if you find happiness with the person, age is secondary. I had a suitor some years back. I was 24years at the time and he was 49years (a whopping 25years difference between us!). He was based in the U.S and had seen my photo with a friend over there. He got my number from her and called and we started chatting over the phone. He sounded very youthful and nice, his voice didn’t belie his age and I didn’t enquire about his age anyway.

Our friendship developed over the phone and months later he visited Nigeria and we met up. When I saw him, I knew he was no young man in his thirties but I wasn’t prepared for it when he told me he was 49 going on 50, Whoa!!!
He told me more still. He had being married but the marriage didn’t work out and they parted ways. He was ready to try out marriage again and he felt I was the one for him, bla, bla bla. Anyway long story short, he proposed but I didn’t accept. I did not reject his proposal because he was old enough to be my father. No, there were other reasons that bordered on character. He was quite arrogant for instance and I couldn’t stand it.

Am sure some of you are probably surprised that I would even consider marrying him despite the age difference. You see, the thing is i have always been attracted to older men anyway. My first REAL boyfriend was 32 while I was barely 18 years. The youngest guy I have ever dated was at least 5years older than moi! How’s that? I also think older guys make better lovers(My opinion o!), its okay if you disagree.

For me really, age is no big deal.

A CELEBRATION OF LOVE-KELECHI & HENRY

"Ours is a relationship that has grown so deep…
built on love, nurtured with patience
and perfected by God"

That was the couple's (Kelechi & Henry) toast.

This post is dedicated to my friends- Kelechi and Henry who were wedded together on Saturday, March 18th, 2007.
Kelechi and I were roommates my first year in the university and we've remained friends since then.
Kelechi and Henry also met while in the university.

Their 8 years old relationship has come a long way. There were the ups and downs, high and lows but today am happy that they surmounted all the challenges and still made it to the altar.
This is to wish you KC and Henry a marital life full of bliss. I hope years down the line you will still be smiling as wide as you were on your wedding day.

Some of the wedding pics.

All smiles, they seem to be saying-"We are one Finally"

Awwh! Dont i look sweet in pink!!

@ the reception. Giving them a grand welcome!

"Drink my love", KC says to Henry.

A toast to love.

Mmmmm...Let's seal it with a kiss.

Check me out! Bootylicious abi??

p.s: Abeg make una no vex for me for no updating since. Work has been so so hectic, i havnt had time to play truant(my boss should not read this o!).
Will find time to do my regular blogrounds when i can.
